STEM - It Means Two Different Things

I now understand that there are two common meanings of the term STEM.

1.  The collection of subjects evoked by the acronym: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. It's a way of talking about these four subjects as a group.

2. An approach to curriculum which is based on problem-solving and design challenges which emphasize group projects, an iterative approach, and an integrated project based approach to these four subjects.

Stay tuned for a full discussion of this and of STEAM.

Which of these two definitions do you feel is most commonly meant when the term STEM is used?
